Just as when we thought that we are about to have enough of the HTC One X, here’s another report that’s related to the said handset. We have already learned that the smartphone is currently up for pre-order at Rogers. Now, there’s a report stating that the global version of the HTC One X will be made available in the US this June via Sprint Wireless.
But unlike the variant that will be coming to AT&T, the one that will be offered by Sprint will sport a different moniker. In short, it will be rebranded. Instead of its traditional name, it will be called as the Sprint EVO One X. You can also call it as the EVO One. Specs wise, the smartphone will still be powered by Qualcomm’s dual core Snapdragon S4 processor as it will be offering its built-in support for LTE which, of course, will take advantage of Sprint’s high speed LTE network. The features that you will be getting from the Sprint variant of the HTC One X will be similar to the AT&T variant but with a few differences. First of all, the phone’s battery will be bigger than the international variant as it will be set at 2650 mAh instead of the usual 1800 mAh. This isn’t a surprising feature considering the fact that the Sprint variant will consume more power especially when it gets connected to LTE.
Furthermore, the Sprint EVO One X will be equipped with an SD card slot, a feature that you cannot find on its other variants. This SD card slot will obviously provide more storage space for your files and apps. In addition, there were speculations that the said smartphone will have a kickstand and will be coated with red and black colors. The phone’s overall look will somewhat be made similar to the EVO 4G. Even so, it will still be sporting its portable and 8.9mm thick body. It will also feature its custom HTC Sense UI that will serve as a nice coat to its Android 4.0 ICS Platform. Also, there were leaks stating that the phone will be trading its Super IPS LCD2 capacitive touchscreen for a clear AMOLED display. We don’t know if that is true though.
Right now, there’s no word regarding the Sprint EVO One X’s price and official date of availability. But for sure, you will be required to avail the carrier’s new two year service subscription. Anyways, it won’t cost you much as long as you will be getting a decent-looking and powerful smartphone with a large 4.7 inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels of full screen resolution. You will also be able to take advantage of its 8 mega pixel rear facing camera with simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, auto focus and LED flash. If you are the type who can’t seem to spend your days without video calls, then you will be delighted to know that the Sprint EVO One X will be equipped with a reliable front facing camera with 1.3MP sensor.
