Back at the CES, Sony showcased its latest model of Xperia handset – the Sony Xperia S. The phone surely looks appealing and it’s fully-packed with impressive specs. Anyways, who could have thought that Sony would keep some features hidden? Well, not really hidden but somehow untold.
From what we have recently heard, the Sony Xperia S will be offered with two unique features. Do expect that the smartphone will be housed inside its anti-stain shell that’s been coated with a certain type of nano-based element. Furthermore, the phone’s outer coating will be UV Active. And according to PocketPC.ch, the said feature was confirmed by Sony’s Product Manager for Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Netherlands.
The second feature that Sony failed to mention was pointing to the phone’s fast-charging capability. That being said, the handset’s charging time will be made shorter wherein its 10 minute charge will allow it to stay on for an hour. This feature remains to be confirmed but will definitely tempt a lot of potential customers especially those who often forget to bring their portable battery chargers.
Aside from the abovementioned features, Sony has already unveiled that the phone’s Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system will later on be upgraded to Android Ice Cream Sandwich version 4.0. But that’s not all. The Sony Xperia S will also be flaunting its Dual Core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8260 Processor, Adreno 220 GPU, 12 mega pixel rear facing camera with auto focus, LED flash and face detection, 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera, 1080p HD quality video capture, HTML5 Browser with Adobe Flash, Timescape UI, Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine, NFC, 32GB of internal memory and 1GB RAM.
Up until now, there has been no official statement that could confirm the phone’s official date of launch. But there are reports stating that the Sony Xperia S will be Release in the UK shelves by January 30th. We sure hope that’s going to be true.
