These past few days, we’ve been hearing some rumors regarding the new Motorola Razr. From what we have heard, the said smartphone will sport a 4.3 inch 720p display and will be called as the Motorola Razr HD. The ‘HD’ will stand for its high definition display. And speaking of which, a leaked photo has been spotted in China and it seems to prove the existence of such phone. But what’s even more interesting is that it packs the latest Android ICS 4.0.3 operating system and its model number has been set to MT887. Little has been stated regarding the specs and features of this new smartphone. Details are yet to be confirmed. We also don’t know if it will indeed be powered by a long lasting 3300 mAh that will be made similar to the Motorola Razr Maxx.
Plus, there have been leaks stating the Motorola Razr HD will be coming to US via Verizon Wireless. The phone’s price and official date of release is yet to be revealed and confirmed. The truth is, we are still waiting for an official release and announcement. We cannot just base on mere assumptions and we cannot simply rely on leaks and rumors. But we can’t also deny the possibility for the phone to be renamed as the Droid Fighter. If this is indeed true, then the Motorola Razr HD will be third installment to Motorola’s famed Razr series. And let’s not forget that the phone will most likely be coated with Motorola’s very own UI aka ‘Blur’.
Oh well, all we can really do right now is to wait for an official word from Motorola. We certainly hope that the mobile company would announce the phone’s upcoming availability in the global market in the next few weeks or months. It’s not like we are in a hurry but considering the quality and performance of today’s newly launched handsets, we are a bit worried. Eventually, we ended up asking ourselves. Will the Motorola Razr HD’s beefed up features and specs be enough to attract the attention of the public?
Looking back, the phone’s previous versions did really well in the market. The Motorola Razr may not be packed with Android Ice Cream Sandwich but it can definitely take pride of its 4.3 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors and 540 x 960 pixels of full screen resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, 16GB of internal storage, 32GB of external storage, 1GB RAM, Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system, dual core 1.2GHz TI OMAP processor, 8 mega pixel rear facing camera with auto focus, geo tagging and LED flash, 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, micro USB, 3G HSDPA, HTML Browser with Adobe Flash and micro HDMI port. The phone also flaunts its splash resistant body that doesn’t go any thicker than 7.1mm.
The Motorola Razr Maxx, on the other hand, sports a set of similar specs. But instead of having a 1780 mAh standard Li-ion battery, the phone relies on its 3300 mAh battery. Motorola also announced that the Razr Maxx’s Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware will soon be upgraded to Android Ice Cream Sandwich version 4.0.
