Just recently, a Motorola device in the form of Motorola MT887 was spotted in China. While we know that Motorola Mobility is going aggressively in their marketing strategies this year in preparation for Google’s acquisition, we are convinced that new devices are also lined up for release in China. The fact is, MT887 looks like the rumored Motorola DROID RAZR HD. This leaves us to think that while the model number is different, these devices may just have the same design, features and specs which is never new in the mobile phone business.
Manufacturers would want to earn as much money as they can from a single device thus it is almost an unwritten rule that newly-released devices performing better in the global market will be released in a localized market so as to squeeze more juice from it. And this might be the case between Motorola DROID RAZR HD and Motorola MT887 for Chinese release.
While the photo was seen and photographed by one blogger, the specs for Motorola MT887 weren’t revealed yet. The same is true with Droid Razr HD, although some rumored specs are roaming online and that’s what we will be talking about. Motorola hasn’t really released an official statement showing the specs of its upcoming flagship but the name alone would tell us that it won’t be a mediocre device. In fact, it may become Motorola’s first entry to the High Definition smartphone market this year to compete with other major manufacturers which already have a good grip of the said market.
One thing that’s for sure, though, Motorola Droid Razr HD and MT887 will be operating on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) which is actually a relief for expectant owners. There is a greater possibility that Droid Razr HD will sport a 13-megapixel primary camera based on the EXIF data of the photo uploaded by a Motorola employee on Picasa just recently. In the said data, it shows that the device used to snap a photo had an aperture of f2.4 which is the same as with iPhone 4S.
Recent rumors also suggest that Droid Razr HD will be getting a considerably powerful Li-Ion battery with 3300 mAh that could power it up for up to 9 hours of straight talk time or around 7 hours of HD video playback. Battery is actually one of the most important factors to ensure the satisfaction of the owners and Motorola seems like taking the right track. There is no information as to when the official launching of this device will be or how much it would be marketed in the global market. Currently, the rumors are all we got to satisfy our needs for information. If the Motorola MT887 is the Chinese variant of this Droid Razr HD, then there is a possibility that both will be simultaneously released bearing the same specs and price.
