According to the latest reports, HTC and Microsoft have announced the launch date for their Windows 8 based Smartphones. While HTC 8X is the high end version and HTC 8X is mid-ranged, both the devices feature the same design and operating system except some premium features in HTC 8X. With November 2nd being selected as the official day for HTC 8X and HTC 8S; the upcoming days are not going to be less action packed than a Hollywood flick!

We already have Samsung’s ATIV S and Nokia’s Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 lined up for the launch probably by this November and with HTC joining the party, things are going to melt up. While Apple is not valid in this discussion, Nokia and Samsung also have a huge fan base and enough promoted their flagships to rule the party. Still, HTC’s UK & Ireland Executive Director, Phil Roberson has no doubt on the success of their products.

He points out the quality sound in their Smartphones raising the “Beats Audio” technology flags alongside. But the new camera features he boasts about including the instant capture capability with the device locked might not be sufficient enough citing the tough competition from Nokia, Apple and Samsung in this field. However, price might be a factor that might restrict the Lumia fans far from reaching their destination.

The two Smartphones, HTC 8X and HTC 8S, will be available in UK via various mobile carriers including Three, Orange, T-Mobile, O2, Virgin Media, Carphone Warehouse, Phones4u, Brightpoint and Brightstar Tech Data. For those who can’t wait so long to get their hands on, they can pre-order the devices from Phones4u, Three and Carphone Warehouse.

The pricing details are available for some carriers only. The pricing at Phones4u is £31/month for HTC 8X and £20.50/month for HTC 8S. Similarly for O2, it is £29 for 8X and £21.50 for 8S.
