Windows 8 has not yet been released to the public, but it is sure to gain a lot of attention in the coming months just because of the name. Dell is set to capitalize on this by introducing a whole bunch of Windows 8 devices and PCs including the Dell Latitude 10 tablet, and the Dell OptiPlex 9010 which has been designed with business users in mind.
It may be designed for business, but it is going to be a whole lot of fun in the entertainment department as well considering the 23 inch full high definition (1920 x 1080) touchscreen display with an Intel Ivy Bridge processor.
The specific details and technical specs, as well as pricing and shipping times, have been released on the official website for the Dell OptiPlex 9010. Reviews are looking good so far from those who have been lucky enough to get their hands on one of these, and the main strong points of this machine seems to be their use in environments where desk space is limited such as offices, schools, and libraries.
The Dell OptiPlex 9010 comes with all of the things you would expect in an all in one solution, such as a webcam, DVD writer, and various bits and pieces, but it is the things I didn’t expect which were a welcome surprise. These surprising extras include a very generous 8GB of memory (with 16GB available as an extra) and a 128GB SSD for storage. Now we’ll just have to wait and see what Apple comes up with if they attempt to stay in this market.
